Release Notes for RAC-G2 firmware ================================== Date: April 21 2003 Version : 1.6.3-1 =================== Version Checklist ----------------- 1) Firmware Version 1.6.3-1 2) gtkRConsole (Linux Remote Console) version is 1.8-3 3) Windows Remote Console OCX version is 1.0.0.63 Fixes ----- 1) On/Off type sensors accessible through IPMI BMC Additions --------- 1) Host current power status can be viewed on the remote control page 2) Windows Remote Console allows control of Right and Left Ctrl and Alt keys from toolbar 3) Keyboard Macros supported in Remote Linux Client. IMPORTANT NOTE - READ THIS FIRST -------------------------------- 1) Due to some security fixes and enhancements only gtkRConsole 1.8-3 and later or Windows RConsoleOCX version 1.0.0.63 and later will be able to connect to the newer firmware. Users need to upgrade the gtkRConsole installation to 1.8-3. Windows clients will automatically be served the new Rconsole OCX. Connecting with the old clients will cause the card to reject the connection and old clients will report "Connection Closed by the G2" It is imperative that when upgrading the firmware the web section is also updated. Date: March 26 2003 Version : 1.6.0-2 =================== Version Checklist ----------------- 1) Firmware version is 1.6.0-2 New Features ------------- 1) Keyboard Macro support added in Windows Remote Console. 2) New command line options for power off and power on added . These operations can be done via command line clients. Knowledge Base -------------- 1) Remote boot and installation of RedHat 8.0 CDROM in graphical mode may give an error. It is advised that text mode is used for remote installation via the G2. 2) Windows 2000 remote installation via CDROM is not supported because of a known Windows 2000 Installation limitation. Windows 2000 installation is non functional even from a regular USB CDROM drive.
